Air Force Air Show

B-1B Lancer
On Sunday I went up to Peirce Air Force Base for an airshow. It was very impressive. In addition to the RAAF aircraft, the Singapore Airforce also flew down some jet fighters and a tanker.

The best of the show was the USAF B1-B Lancer supersonic long-ranger bomber flown in from Guam for the show. What a beautiful and stunning aircraft! It is, without a doubt, one of the most awesome and fearsome flying can of whoop-ass on the planet. The B1-B was a static display, which meant that you walk around it. Some people got to go inside. I was not so priveledged. I spoke to the crew that was there. They are with the 37th Bomber Squadron out of Ellsworth AFB, Black Hills, South Dakota. Their B1-B had the nose art "The Uninvited" of a tiger ripping through the hull.

I was pretty damn hot out there on the tarmac. And the flies were terrible! I am thankful that a few million of them got sucked into jet engines and roasted to death.
